Pavel Karmanov, Composer / Moscow 2024
Pavel Karmanov is one of the most performed contemporary composers. Since the early 90s, Pavel Karmanov has been fascinated by the aesthetics of post-avant-garde, «new simplicity» and «minimalism». Today, Pavel Karmanov’s music is characterized by tonal clarity, impressionistic coloring, laconicism of form, original refraction of post-avant-garde practices, the use of any modern styles, as well as various audiovisual effects in concert performance.
Pavel Karmanov's works are performed in the main concert halls, at concerts and festivals in different cities of the world. Pavel Karmanov is the author of music for many feature films and documentaries.
The Classicaplus project and composer Pavel Karmanov presented the premiere of the «Flight (Polet)» program at the Zaryadye Concert Hall. On April 12, 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin made the world's first flight into outer space, proving that human capabilities are limitless, that the pursuit of a dream can overcome any obstacles. The concert lasted 108 minutes — the time during which the Vostok spacecraft orbited the Earth.
